While I do not use financial calculators for FINC335, the other finance professors do expect that you will have a financial calculator for their senior-level classes. We do consider a TI83plus to be a financial calculator. If you continue on and pursue a finance degree, you will need to learn to use a financial calulator. Most financial calulators work in a manner similar to how the financial functions in Excel work. I have had someone who used to work for me create a PowerPoint presentation to explain how to use Excel and a TI-83plus calculator to do the financial functions.
